Original artwork by C. Ann McMurray

About the Artist

C. Ann McMurray received her BFA from the Corcoran College of Art & Design and MFA from the University of Delaware. She taught color and black/white traditional photography as an adjunct professor in the DC/ Baltimore area for 10 years. She uses various modes of expression – from multi-image installations to pictures placed in found objects – with each photographic piece complete yet linked. Her innovative work is about relationships, image to image and subject to subject. The images are juxtaposed to create a loose narrative while emphasizing the visual. Her photography has been exhibited nationally and is in museums and private collections.

Even though Ann’s primary area of study was photography, drawing was her first love. As far back as she can remember, she drew as a means of expression. Throughout the years, Ann continued to doodle in sketchbooks and a style evolved. Drawing is once again her primary creative outlet. The drawings capture the essence of the object or space that is being portrayed. They are more than a reflection. They capture the heart of the matter and reveal it for all to see.

C. Ann McMurray retains the copyright on all of her artwork.
